Into The Blue     H14"xW12"xD10"

The ceramic vessel I created was constructed from large coils to build the form and smaller coils for the pores extending from the surface. I choose the angle of the pores to resemble how natural objects and nature can go from upright to angled downwards. The large pores at the top look upwards and progress to move downwards as the shape comes to its base. Contrasting the earthy exterior colors, I used a bright turquoise color inside the pores to introduce the interior beauty of the vessel. I see this piece as a mystical form that could be found deep in nature as a series of different shapes and scales.
